GUI Settings

The BuildersWand GUI provides an intuitive way to configure your wand's behavior. Access it by sneaking and left-clicking while holding your wand.

Opening the GUI

To open the wand settings GUI:

  1. Hold your wand in your hand

  2. Press and hold the sneak key (Shift by default)

  3. Left-click while sneaking

  4. The settings menu will appear

The GUI shows your current wand settings and allows you to modify them without using commands.

GUI Layout

The settings GUI is organized into a 3x9 grid with specific buttons in designated slots:

GRASS_BLOCK (Slot 11): Mode button - Switch between place and break modes

STICK (Slot 12): Line mode button - Toggle line mode

REDSTONE_DUST (Slot 13): Particles button - Toggle visual feedback effects

COMPASS (Slot 14): Distance button - Adjust building range

CHEST (Slot 15): Storage button - Access wand storage

Mode Button

The mode button allows you to switch between different wand modes.

Available Modes

Place Mode: The default mode for building structures. The wand extends existing patterns by placing blocks in adjacent empty spaces.

Break Mode: Used for removing blocks. The wand identifies and removes connected blocks of the same type.

Using the Mode Button

  1. Click the mode button to cycle through available modes

  2. The button will update to show the current mode

  3. Some wands may only support certain modes depending on their configuration

Mode Restrictions

Not all wands support all modes. Basic wands might only support place mode, while advanced wands support both place and break modes. If a mode isn't available, clicking the mode button will show an error message.

Distance Button

The distance button controls how far the wand can build from your starting point.

Distance Settings

The distance setting ranges from 1 to the wand's maximum range. Higher distances allow you to affect larger areas, but they also consume more resources and may cause performance issues.

Adjusting Distance

  1. Click the distance button to cycle through available distances

  2. The button shows your current distance and maximum range (defined in your wand's configuration)

  3. Available distances typically increase in increments (1, 2, 4, 8, etc.)

Distance Considerations

Small distances (1-4): Good for detailed work and precise control Medium distances (4-8): Balanced for most building projects Large distances (8+): Useful for large-scale projects but may cause lag

Particles Button

The particles button controls the visual feedback system.

Particle Effects

When enabled, particles show you exactly what the wand will affect before you commit to the action. This helps prevent mistakes and ensures you're building what you intended.

Toggle Particles

  1. Click the particles button to toggle particles on/off

  2. When enabled, you'll see particle effects when looking at blocks

  3. When disabled, no visual feedback is shown

Particle Types

Different wands may use different particle types:

  • Flame particles: Default for all wands

  • Custom particles: Some wands may use unique particle effects

Storage Button

The storage button opens the wand's built-in storage system.

Storage System

The storage system allows you to store multiple block types directly in your wand. This is particularly useful for complex projects that require different materials.

Accessing Storage

  1. Click the storage button to open the storage interface

  2. The storage interface shows all stored block types

  3. Click on stored blocks to use them or manage your storage

Storage Management

Adding Blocks: Place blocks in the storage interface to add them to your wand's storage.

Removing Blocks: Click on stored blocks to remove them from storage.

Storage Limits: Each wand has a maximum storage size that determines how many different block types can be stored.

Troubleshooting GUI Issues

GUI Won't Open

Check Permissions: Make sure you have the required permissions to use the GUI.

Verify Wand: Ensure you're holding a valid BuildersWand.

Check Sneak Key: Make sure you're properly sneaking when left-clicking.

Buttons Not Working

Mode Restrictions: Some wands may not support all modes.

Permission Issues: You may not have permission to change certain settings.

Wand Configuration: The wand may not have certain features enabled.
