Understanding Wands

Wands are the core of BuildersWand - they're the tools that make building faster and more efficient. Each wand has specific properties that determine how it behaves and what it can do.
Every wand displays several key properties in its lore:
Durability: Shows how many uses the wand has remaining. When durability reaches zero, the wand breaks and needs repair. Higher-tier wands typically have more durability or are unbreakable.
Max Range: The maximum distance the wand can build from your starting point. This affects how large an area the wand can work with in a single operation.
Mode: Whether the wand is currently set to place or break blocks. Some wands support both modes, while others are limited to one.
Storage Size: How many different block types the wand can store internally. This affects how convenient the wand is for complex building projects.
Wands use intelligent selection algorithms to understand what you want to build. When you point at a block and use the wand, it:
Analyzes the target block - Determines the block type and position
Finds connected blocks - Identifies other blocks of the same type that are connected
Calculates the selection area - Determines where new blocks should be placed based on the pattern
Applies the action - Places or breaks blocks according to the selected mode
This process happens automatically, which is why wands feel so intuitive to use. The wand essentially "understands" building patterns and extends them naturally.
BuildersWand includes multiple wand tiers, each offering different capabilities:
Basic Wand: Perfect for beginners. Limited range and features, but easy to understand and use. Great for learning the plugin.
Advanced Wand: Increased range and additional features like storage. Good for intermediate builders working on larger projects.
Expert Wand: Maximum range and all features enabled. Unbreakable and unlimited, perfect for large-scale building projects.
Creative Wand: Ultimate building tool with all features and no restrictions. Typically reserved for server administrators or creative mode players.
Wands behave differently depending on their configuration:
Place Mode: The wand looks for empty spaces adjacent to existing blocks of the same type and fills them. This creates natural-looking structures that follow existing patterns.
Break Mode: The wand identifies connected blocks of the same type and removes them all at once. This is useful for clearing large areas quickly.
Line Mode: Instead of filling connected areas, the wand creates straight lines or walls. This is perfect for creating boundaries, roads, or structured layouts.
Wands provide visual feedback through particle effects that show you exactly what will be affected before you commit to the action. This helps prevent mistakes and ensures you're building what you intended.
The particle system is customizable - you can adjust the particle type, count, and even disable particles entirely if you prefer a cleaner visual experience.
Particles Example:

Many wands include built-in storage that allows you to keep your most-used blocks readily available. This storage system can automatically refill from your inventory, making it easy to maintain a steady supply of building materials.
The storage system is particularly useful for complex projects where you're using multiple block types. Instead of constantly switching between your inventory and the building area, you can access everything you need directly from the wand.
