Quick Start Guide

Get up and running with BuildersWand in just a few minutes. This guide will walk you through the essential steps to start building immediately.

Step 1: Get Your First Wand

If you have the required permission or you're an admin, you can give yourself a wand using the command:

/bw give

This gives you a basic wand, which is perfect for learning the plugin. If you want to give a wand to another player, use:

/bw give [wand name] [player]

Default available wands are basic, advanced, expert, and creative

You can also craft a wand if it has crafting enabled. Two blaze rods and one diamond are the default ingredients for the Basic wand.

Step 2: Understanding Your Wand

When you receive a wand, you'll notice it has several properties displayed in its lore:

  • Durability: How many uses the wand has before it breaks

  • Max Range: The maximum distance the wand can build from your starting point

  • Mode: Whether the wand is set to place or break blocks

Step 3: Basic Usage

Placing Blocks

  1. Hold your wand in your hand

  2. Look at a block of the same type you want to place

  3. Right-click to place blocks in the selected area

The wand will automatically detect connected blocks of the same type and place new blocks in adjacent empty spaces.

Breaking Blocks

  1. Switch your wand to break mode (we'll cover this in the GUI section)

  2. Look at the blocks you want to break

  3. Right-click to break all connected blocks of the same type

Step 4: Opening the Settings GUI

While holding your wand, sneak and left-click to open the settings menu. This GUI allows you to:

  • Change between place and break modes

  • Adjust the building distance

  • Toggle particle effects on/off

  • Access your wand's storage

  • Toggle auto-refill on/off

  • Toggle line mode on/off

Step 5: Your First Building Project

Try building a simple wall:

  1. Place a single block where you want your wall to start

  2. Look at that block with your wand

  3. Right-click to automatically extend the wall

The wand will continue the wall pattern, placing blocks in all connected spaces. This is much faster than placing each block individually.

What's Next

Now that you understand the basics, you can explore more advanced features like line mode, storage systems, and different wand tiers. The plugin is designed to grow with your building skills; start simple and gradually discover more powerful capabilities as you become comfortable with the fundamentals.
